Most site workers, including labourer and many skilled routes. Core health, safety and environment knowledge for people working on site.

Before you sit the real paper

The official exam is sat at a Pearson VUE centre. Use timed mocks until the format feels familiar, then book when your scores are consistently at the pass mark.

Watch the clock
50 questions in 45 minutes is about 54 seconds each. Answer the quick ones first and flag anything you want to revisit.
Do not leave blanks
Only correct answers score. There is no penalty for a guess. Strike out the options that cannot be right, then choose.
Some items need more than one answer
A few questions ask you to select two or more options. You only get the mark if every required option is chosen.
Five wrong answers is the limit
The pass mark is 45 out of 50. Book the real paper when you can pass full mocks consistently, not after a single lucky run.
Keep the score report
You get the result at the centre straight away. You will need that report when you apply for a site card, so do not lose it.

Questions test the safest, by-the-book action on a compliant UK site, not a shortcut you may have seen used.

Do I need an account to start?
No. Topic practice and your first full mock are free to start. Create an account only if you want to save progress or unlock every mock and explanation.
Which paper do I need?
Labourer and most skilled routes sit Operatives. Supervisory and many trade routes sit Specialists. Manager and White academically or professionally qualified (AQP and PQP) routes sit MAP. Card colour is a guide only. Check the official scheme card finder if you are unsure.
What does the paper look like?
Operatives, Specialists, and MAP papers are all 50 questions in 45 minutes, with a 90% pass mark (45 out of 50), sat at a Pearson VUE centre. Some questions need more than one answer. Timed mocks follow that shape. The booking fee is £23.50.
Can I sit the real paper at home?
No. The official exam is sat at a Pearson VUE centre, not from home. Trade Study is practice only. Book the real paper through the official CITB booking route.
How should I practise?
Drill weak topics, then sit a full timed mock for your paper. Many people feel ready after a few weeks of about 30 minutes a day. Book when you pass mocks consistently.
